Social Media Intern
Tigercomm interns work with Tigercomm staff to rapidly deliver strategic communication services to our clients, while enhancing our reputation for unparalleled effectiveness and accountability for results.
We work to ensure that our interns have the opportunity to learn the basics of advocacy communications from some of the best people in the field. And, they do this while serving as important, paid members of our account teams.
The duties of the Social Media Intern include the following:
Identifying On-line Communities
- Identify and research online communities, groups and conversations on top social networks relevant to our clients
- Search the Internet to find platforms that have been developed to specifically discuss topics relevant to our clients
- Identify active email lists/groups that focus on topics relevant to our clients
Evaluating New Media Platforms and Outlets
- Research new social network tools and platforms, including their ease of use and applicability to our client work
- Search case studies/success stories about communication campaigns and mainstream social networks
- Experiment with newer social networks and brainstorm potential uses for clients and the firm
- Research ways to measure/evaluate mainstream and newer social networking efforts.
Additional Duties As Needed
- Perform issue and media research for clients using LexisNexis, Cision and online search engines.
- Use clip summaries to update websites that Tigercomm builds and maintains for client efforts.
- Use HTML to update copy on websites.
- Collect and archive online, hard copy, audio, and video clips, and help prepare reports to clients on coverage we generate for them.
Previous internship experience in politics, environmental advocacy, or communications is preferred, with HTML proficiency a plus.
